With a Corvair, it is simple.
1. Are there any new buckles in the sheetmetal of untouched panels? The
Corvair has welded panels and a unibody structure, unlike the bolt on
fenders of other cars, so all force is diverted to everything. If the
force is great enough to be a concern, a buckle will show.
2. Looking from the front or back with the front wheels straight, do the
front wheels and rear wheels line up the same? See image.
Again, small twists can be fixed. It takes a shop who wants to work on
older cars. Now, if it is rusty and there is no where to tie the frame
equipment to the rocker pinchwelds, that is a whole different problem!
