I've cleaned white walls with sand paper, then cleaned with plumbers friend cleaning powder and water. I saw on Google where some body jacked the back of the car up put it in gear and used a side grinder on the white wall ground the black rubber off making the white side wall wider and it really  looked really clean.  One should be careful doing that procedure.  Jerry Brown
