<VV> HELP: LM long lower rocker trim install

I don't seem to have a manual showing exploded view of how the long steel "retainer" goes on.  All new from Clark's.  That retainer screws to the body, but I dont know if the narrow flat tang/flange side goes up or down.  I would guess - down.  Zero instructions from Clark's.  Does anyone have a detail pic they can send?
