The Cactus Corvair Club won "Best Car Club" Saturday at the 17th Annual Chester's Classic Car Show held in conjunction with the Melrose on 7th Street Fair in downtown Phoenix.


The Cutaway Corvair was centered in our club display area with two Corvairs and a Huffy Corvair bike on each side. Two of the Corvairs got coverage on the local TV morning show multiple times.


This annual street fair shuts down a 1/2 mile of 7th Ave for the day and is filled with classic cars, vendors, musical acts and an estimated 25,000 spectators. The cars are parked tail-end to the curb all along the street on both sides. Temperatures were perfect in the low 70's with sunshine and low winds while a big part of the eastern US was under record setting storm conditions.
