<VV> re-attaching chrome buttons to upholstery

Bill, I have attached my notes and photo of finished work from when I reupholstered my 1962 Monza seats. Hope it helps some.

Since Clark's repro upholstery does not include the chrome buttons on, for example, '62 and '63 Monza upholstery, and since one must save the original buttons and reattach them, my question is what recommendations are out there for the method of reattaching the buttons? Thanks in advance for your help.
