<VV> engine ID

That’s the VIN number of the car.  I know it’s on the ‘68s & ‘69s, and maybe ‘67s.  I believe it was a vehicle theft or parts stripping prevention attempt.

Numbers after the RY are the build date.

 I have an engine I propose to sell, don't know where I got it from. It is a smog engine RY 1968 as all the top sheet metal is correct.  I do not understand the extra numbers on the block. 


  Also are the pistons in the '68 engine different?  See picture, Thanks.
