I've heard the opposite from locksmiths and locksmith forums. Later GM service manuals also recommend oil (30W synthetic motor oil). New GM locks I've bought come oiled.

No to most oils in a lock.
Yes to Lock-Ease.
It has graphite in it which will lubricate the lock without oil remaining behind for dirt to stick into.
Only one key, or do you multiple trunk keys (large oval head) and they all work poorly?
If just one key is stubborn, get a code cut key.
