Hard to find today because of the health hazard of the dust created , but all my brake shoes have been ground to fit the drums. This maximizes surface contact.  I used an old AAMCO shoe grinder . Most shoes , if you set them in the drums will not have much more than 50% contact area on older turned drums. They will wear in somewhat , but not much , not too quickly.Makes a big difference in stopping , especially FC's !Regards, Tim Colson
