I didn't talk to those questions from Michael as I've not done any testing.
I would imagine that if you swap the temp wire and the oil pressure wire
there would be no change since they are on the same wire from the harness
in the engine bay. In my experience only the fan/gen light comes on dimly
when the key is on accessory position. I'm guessing that is a result of a
draw recognized greater than what the generator is producing since it isn't
turning. I believe that's why they could tie the gen and fan together on
one light...belt comes off or the generator stops functioning would produce
the same result, no recharge.
But, as you noted, every time someone else drives any of my cars I always
find the key full CCW. That I could talk to (grin).
