The early EMs had drain plugs and the boss for the plug has been there on every one I've looked at.  The Clark's PG pan is too close to the stock differential drain plug location.
The plug in the 4-speed transmission faces the plug in the differential.
I can't remember which years.
But since you questioned it maybe I'm nuts and imagined all those magnetic drain plugs...
