 How do I put the TV linkage on
 properly? As far as I can tell it is as it
 was before when it worked, yet
 something must be different.
 

Disconnect the ball-end of cable from the transmission (again),
Disconnect the throttle linkages from the lever arm on the transmission,
Rotate the lever arm all the way counterclockwise,
Push the ball end of the cable back into the transmission, seating the O-ring and secure with the 1/4-20 bolt,
Check the position of the lever arm per page 7-34 in the 1965 shop manual,
Reconnect the throttle linkage.
