Designed for Dexron, continue to use Dexron. You are already 
experiencing a problem, don't add to the problem list. One thing at a time!

It is true the difference between Type A , Dexron and Type F was 
friction modifiers. Even Ford does not design for type F anymore with 
their modern stuff! Many more types on the market today than you can 
shake a stick at.
