<VV> engine rebuilding my 2 cents

My "luck" rebuilding lots of  motors since the 70,s has been very good  , 
until now. I have been ok with valve seats etc using the shops that seem to 
be  good . My worst failure was not really my fault , but about the worst you 
can  have. I plan to write a full story about it for the website and CNYCC 
newsletter  soon. It is a very long story , but the end result was a crank 
gear spinning @20  + degrees. Cause?  have you ever seen a converter  way out 
of  balance?  To many words involved to type the story (one finger typist)  
right now.
  The most popular failure happens before I let the motors out of here  
..simple.fuel pump leak issues , even when I do the tightening procedure. I  
build my motors on a hydraulic table. I run them at least 2 hours or more 
before  they leave here , and if I am installing them , road test the vehicle @ 
100  miles or more on a day ride. You have seen some of my work on senior 
cars at  nationals for several years. I am no longer taking on any large jobs 
like that  here , I hope to slow down to rebuild small things , like radios 
, speedos ,  carbs , alternators , etc.  Sometimes even that kind of work 
can generate  stress..
My body and mind are getting wore out on some of the major jobs I have  
undertaken in the recent past. The biggest part of this work for me is  
cleaning  and detailing all the parts and hardware.
