<VV> Help...Help...the key is stuck in my trunk.

I bought the car new in 1966 and this has never happened before.
The key is original and has opened the trunk countless times.
The key went in normally, I turned it 90 degrees, the trunk lid did not open.
I can't return the key to vertical...it's locked in position.
I tried lubrication and used pliers. (not enough to break the key)  It goes in slightly but otherwise doesn't move.
I've jiggled everything and applied pressure in every direction possible.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
