<VV> COPPER? brake lines?

I would want to make sure brake line material is rated properly for  
pressures involved. Copper is NOT ( at least in NY state).  Same with  compression 
fittings.
on another note , I wonder how many 1960 motors are getting wasted by  
scrapping? I hate to do it , but I have no use here for it. I have heard from  
others with the same situation. Someday Cavemen are going to be sorry...?
