Lights and ammeters?? Seriously????
Use a voltmeter in series with the battery. When you isolate the current
leak from the system, the voltmeter will drop to zero.

For the best of both, measure or calculate the resistance of the lightbulb
and then use the meter to measure the voltage drop across the lightbulb. JB
