I let the word out informally a few weeks ago to “test the waters”, got lots of interest and it went to the first guy who came up with the money - a reseller in Nebraska.

Bob

Hi everyone,
It's the end of an era - two actually!
I've been doing mechanical work on old cars, boats, motorcycles and anything that moves (or usually doesn't!) for 50 years plus. The 68 UltraVan was sold 2 months ago, a month later the boat went and today my much loved, fully restored 66 Corvair has been sold.
So it's the end of an era of fixing "old stuff" and it will be the first time for close to 50 years that I don't have a Corvair.
I’m keeping the tools and will continue tinkering but the days of swapping engines in a parking lot or replacing a wheel bearing on the side of road are gone. No regrets and all part of the fun at the time.
Even as recently as a year ago this would have seemed impossible but at this age and stage it simply feels "right". It's time to move on and do other things – like going camping and playing with my shiny new DJI Phantom 4 drone!
Regards,
Bob
