<VV> Remote fixed - No Corvair, but probably interest for many

I had a non-operational remote key fob and power mirror on my Silverado. I had tried everything including a new battery, cleaning and re-programming to no avail. But, I got so many responses with success stories for cleaning that I took it completely apart and cleaned the junk out again with alcohol, but this time used electrical contact cleaner (with Q-tips, so as not to damage the plastic) and it worked! Thanks for all who offered tips. I am still working on the mirror and have traced most of the wiring loom to no avail. I will check it inside the mirror next and remove and clean the switch.
