<VV> Windshield Area Drain Holes

Working on a 65 convertible that had a replacement windshield incorrectly installed.  After removal I thought I would find a drain hole in the cowl area on either side.  I thought I remebered seeing the holes- actually more like slots on my 65 years ago.  Am I wrong?  Are there drains?  thanks.
