The '65s are , I think, 1/4-20. Short.
The Sag bolts are larger in diameter; and longer.

What size is the U-Joint bracket bolt on a Saginaw 4-speed transaxle?
The assembly manual shows GM Part # 3887348
I was surprised to see that the ones from the '65 transaxle are way too
small!
It's much larger than the bolts for earlier years, between 5/16" and 3/8"?
Plus it appears the holes in the metal "strap" may be too small too,
requiring replacements straps?
