ANY suspected pressure issues , I start by checking real pressure . I use a
Clark's "adaptabolt" with a center feed oil pressure gauge screwed into
it. It is also on any new motors I build for at least 1/2 to 1 hour of
running it in. I like to see @40 lbs cold with my drill driving the oil pump
before trying to start it.
I have had motors here with stuck regulator "pistons" causing very high
pressures on the gauge. Mostly on motors started up after sitting long
periods of time.
Regards, Tim Colson just fired up another nice running " new" motor
today.
