<VV> High Capacity Alternators

Come by anytime and I start the UltraVan and I turn on the Sharp
microwave - 985 watts or 80 amps out of the alternator through the
Xantrex inverter to the microwave. I have a clamp on ammeter that
reads to 300 amps. That we can put on the 4 ga alternator lead (150 amp
fuse). I can turn the headlights and load another 11 amps to the
alternator. The voltage will drop to 13.6 volts but the belt doesn't
ship. Of course you have to have the engine above 3,500 rpm. For
those that are curious, I change belts every year, but they do last at
least 12,000 miles. Kneeling over a hot Corvair engine to change a
belt alongside the Interstate is not my idea of fun.
