There is a seal there where the axle stub goes into the differential. See
pages 123 and 124 of Clarks catalog, #7 is that seal. Also, #8 is a seal
for the differential carrier adjusting sleeve. Do not take that out unless
you know how to set up differentials. Mark Durham
