Maybe this is too simplistic, but why not let concours participants decide for themselves which class they wish to enter, and let the chips fall where they may? If you want to enter your Subaru-engined Yenko Stinger station wagon in Stock class, well, you just take your chances. Points would be deducted for non-originality just as they are now, so the probability of taking home a trophy in that class would probably be pretty remote. Of course, the judges would be available to advise on the wisdom (or lack of same) for pursuing such a course of action. The low-mile '63 under discussion could be entered in Stock class with the appropriate deductions made for the incorrect tires, and that would be that.
I shudder to think what could happen if CORSA's current mindset were taken to its absolute extreme. Will the next step be disassembling engines to verify that they haven't been updated with Viton seals?
