I order from Amazon and Ebay all the time. I have to know what I am
ordering. I can probably find a radiator cap on Ebay for my Corvair.
The car has no water, so I don't order it. I was in the car parts
business for years. Heard all the stories. This remindes me I need to
rebuild a starter so there is one on the shelf when I need it.

I was surprised to find the same part that is sold at AutoZone on the
Amazon
site, for half the price, still saving $10 after paying for shipping!
AutoZone could not get the part, while NAPA, O'Reilley's, Clark's and
Underground would take about a week.
Underground and Clarks (and I would gladly prefer and patronize club
members!) could not even take my order until the following Monday,
while
Amazon delivered it Sunday morning (for about the same price
including
shipping.)
Gee, all these benefits: Lower price, fast shipping, weekend
ordering.
BUT IT WAS THE WRONG PART!
If low price, fast shipping, and weekend ordering is more important
to
you that gettting the right part, then by all means continue to order
from Amazon.
Sheesh.
