A boomerang is a thrown object that is designed to spin about an axis 
perpendicular to the direction of its flight and return itself to the 
thrower.

Oh -- wait -- crikey! -- you meant on an FC.  In that context a 
boomerang is a component of the steering linkage that resembles a 
boomerang in shape.  Look under the driver's side of any FC and you'll 
recognize it.
