Smitty says, as reported by George Jones I am indeed using a Miller welder
with gas. It is a Miller GS420 but made by a Korean outfit named Gold Seal
and bought from HF. Maybe ten years old and still works well operating on
120 volts. Much better than I do. I have never tried it with flux core
wire but have no reason to think it would not do as well that way. I will
take credit for poor welds as my eyes are shot and my skill is not exercised
near often enough. I get better at the end of every body panel replacement
and then lay it aside for extended periods of time. It has never failed to
deliver what the settings are set at. No feed problems.
