Don't forget to replace the condenser.  It'll kill the ignition just like a
bad coil and very unpredictable.
I used to do tune-ups in the 70's and many people only wanted to change the
points and plugs.  Two cars died after we tuned them up without changing
the condenser.  We fixed them by replacing the condenser.  After that, I
always replaced the condenser.  They're cheap.
