YES ! build or buy something like this and install it close to one carb.

Then when it stalls the owner can leap out and at least see the fuel pressure. 
Having acceptable pressure instantly rules out dozens of expensive frustrating maybe$. 

Some wiggle testing of all the wiring can be pretty useful too. 
Note, wiggle test is an official FORD procedure, but proven useful on other makes too.
