<VV> windshield wiper woes

Guys,
Resurrecting a car that has been sitting for a while. The multi-speed
wipers don’t work; however if I do the washer (push knob) itwipes only while the
knob is pushed in.  Anybody have a recommendationabout what is the likely
culprit and/or how to repair?

It's all about grounding!  Remove switch from dash and dismantle and clean lube...
