<VV> speedo and clutch questions

FWIW when I had a bucking problem like yours I had just installed a rebuilt pressure plate (by a known, good, rebuilder) with the Vega clutch disk which is spring loaded, unlike the original Corvair disk, and had a bucking problem as well. I replaced the front mounts on the GB and took all slack out of the clutch linkage and it quieted down. I've come to think that the extra twist allowed by the Vega clutch disk will demonstrate any drivetrain/tranny mount/linkage sloppiness--at least more so than the original disk. Bob

Bob, funny when those types of things come back to bite you.
I bought a rebuilt distributor from a reliable source once and installed it
with new points, etc, set it up, ran great for about 30 miles. Reset, twice
to get home. Inspected the lobes of dist and had been accidentally bead
blasted which wore the points cam block away. So I put a pertronix in and
has run great since.
