<VV> AAA 100/200 mile tow "waiting period" used to be a year?

Last week, I objected to the AAA 100/200 mile tow "90 day waiting period"

The guy told me, "You're lucky ~ it used to be a year, now it's only 3
months!"

I'd had the false "peace of mind" to make the 90 mile drive to San Diego a
few times with GEICO, unaware that it would cost me $850 to get home if I
had had a problem!

When I discovered that tidbit my "peace of mind" evaporated, and I switched
to AAA.

Now I have to wait until June 3th to drive to the beach with any "peace of
mind" :<{!

Sure, they'll tow to a dealer who will probably pump gas into my oil filler
and put 30 lbs of air in my tires and lecture me about "low tire pressure"!

Thanks but no thanks ~ I want my car towed to my house where I may not know
what I'm doing, but she's better off here than there!

I don't recall a waiting period.  Maybe they did not have it 10 years ago
when I joined.  I have the 200 mile program - called "Premier RV".  Don't
recall the price, but it was not too much more than the 100 mile plan.

Also many good discounts.  Once got a better hotel rate than the "Corvair" 
rate at a function.
