OK, you beat me to it..
But seriously, the best grease is silicone grease. Loctite has some, Dow Corning is the usual leader in silicone chemistry.

Yeah, Astroglide, I've seen that. That the ticket! - (finished laughing!) -

Astroglide washes off with water when you're done, verrrrrry slippery
stuff and won't attack your rubber...............ahem.

You can buy small cans of Ru-Glyde which are handy but about thirty years
ago I bought a gallon and there will still be some left when I'm gone.

Actually, the best stuff is "Ru-Glyde" it is used for tire mounting onto
wheels. It is available in a concentrate, but likely more product than you
would use in ten lifetimes. Maybe available - a little bit - at a tire
store
near you. Check it out on Amazon.

Lots of great ideas ~
I like the WD-40 best, but will test them all on each of the 4 bushings
(oil
worked great on one so far, but it was a bit messy!)
I've heard that WD-40 revitalizes rubber, so that seems to have the least
downside?
Full report when I get them all done ...

I use WD40. It seems to "go away" shortly after it does its job.

I wasn't sure if the oil would "attack" the rubber?

White grease.. The kind you use on door hinges and locks..typically.
Well, first, check bar, If all rough and corroded, clean it, sand it,
repaint, whatever. Let dry well, then grease up bushing or.....if you
don't like grease to wipe off (it will keep corrosion down), heat
rubber bushings in warm water...like kind of hot to the touch, but not
really hot... they normally expand a bit and get softer. Then push it
on and around corners, over hills and valleys, and ya got it!
