Ken, If it is SM rated, the oil will have too little ZDDP, probably 800 ppm
maximum. There are other Mobil 1 Delvac oils that have more. SM is a modern
engine rating for roller cams and roller rockers which work with much less
stress than our engines.
This is too little ZDDP for a new flat tappet engine.
The Mobil 1 15 w 50 has over 1200 ppm, is good for extended oil changes if
you like, and is $22.97 for 5 quarts at my local Wally's world. And it is a
full synthetic.
