Matt, you always have been exceptional.. LOL!

==========================================================

Most just say, "Exceptional luck" I remember before driving my Salvage 66 vert to Tahoe my Friends MADE me put one of Lon's Mech fuelpumps on, or they wouldn't let me caravan.. I had made 2 good pumps out of 6 junkers...so I had a spare!...but that wasn't good enough for them! LOL!!

My "Greatest LUCK" was a "freshening" of a 3,000 hp Gas Turbine...designed to make 2400 kw....... worn out..only making 1800 kw..

I used all "rejected" new parts, where I deemed needed...... did it in one weekend........ made 2900 kw and lasted for years!....2 yrs. later the engine actually went to a BIG customer that needed their unit back up ASAP and I was only 200 miles away...and yes we built another "used parts engine" to replace it!

My Boss was very happy.... OUR cost was $700,000 and 3 weeks for a company certified overhaul.... This unit saved us approx. $1.3 mil per year in Utility cost......and would've cost us an additional $200,000 to be down a month.. If I had been "unlucky" it would only cost us the original amounts! And yes I used RTV [ against company policy] to seal surfaces where water leaked out when I water washed the cold inside of the engine [ turbine tuneup!] because it made a mess and I had to clean it up!! LOL!

Picture is not the unit...but similar;
