Sounds like a good project car if that is what you want. AZ cars typically
need glass (it's all sandblasted) and rubber parts (they just disintegrate
out there). Rubber parts are NOT inexpensive. Paint over rust holes should
scare you with this one
What happened to the $12,000 - turn key idea?

Subject: <VV> Car number 2- 1966 Monza
I just located another car in the area. This one is a 1966 monza convertible
with the 110 hp engine and 4 speed. The say full restoration in the ad but
was more “tried to do what I could” type of car. New interior, new top, new
paint. Came out of a body shop but I would say the quality of the paint job
is fair. Car was original to Arizona and it does look like it had minimal
rust. I did look at rocker panels and they look fine. The car is missing
lots of little pieces but nothing that could not be tracked down. I guess
that can be part of the fun is the hunt for parts. The window fuzzes are
shot and the rubber could use replacing. Motor was strong but I think it
could use a little tlc. Shifted well and I thought the brakes worked very
well as I did a number of quick stops and had no problems. Emergency did not
work but I’m assuming its the cable. I have attached some pictures of the
car. He is asking 8K but no why no how do I think it is close to that in the
shape it is in. I’m thinking 5K area but here is one thing the owner let of
of the bag. He said if he does not sell in the next two weeks he will put it
into a local auction. I don’t think this car will show well and I don’t
think he wants to put anymore time into it. I’m thinking of waiting for the
auction (I don’t have to pay for a buyers card) and see what it does. If it
comes in low I could pickup a good project car. As you all have helped me in
my last post I just wanted your advise on this one.
