Got back to Corvair Alley around 1:30 today with Bob Coffin and Barry
Ellison. They rode with me in the BRD (Big Red Dodge) and shared expenses.
What a great but too short weekend! I think this year's Workshop was one of
the better ones.
There was the adjustment of using a new host facility, TKO Graphix which is
a huge graphics company in Springfield Indiana just on the out skirts of
Indy. They can wrap a tractor trailer! They were also working half a day on
Saturday while the Workshop was in progress. The vendor area was a bit
crowded but we had more space in the adjoining room which is where the
presentations are done. Michael LeVeque had his newly painted Monzster
On display. There was not as many local Corvairs present as in previous
years although the weather was dry but chilly and overcast all day Saturday.
Since we did not get to Indy until after lunch on Saturday we didn't do any
of the tours. Some folks were there on Thursday and did a little touring on
their own. Saw a few old friends that have been absent from several years of
the Workshop along with all the "usual suspects" as Brian O'Neill likes to
call us.
I had some items to vend and sold most of them for a pretty nice addition to
the racing fund. I managed only to buy several crank seals from "Sweet
Johnny"' or John Sweet. Usually I buy as much as I sell!
By the end of the day most of us were pooped out but a lot of folks made the
trip to Anderson to the LeVeque's Mexifest feast. Several of us went back to
the host hotel to rest up, BS some more and decide where we were going to
eat. That turned out to be a local Appleby's. I really like their
Margaritas. After supper we headed back to the hotel for more BS! Finally
most of us slowly drifted off to our respective rooms for some much needed
shuteye.
Sunday morning dawned crispy cold but clear with the sun coming up and the
ones who did not leave earlier met in the dining room for a parting
breakfast and some last minute BS before bidding each other goodbye and
getting on our way back home. Seems as though it all went too fast. It was a
much needed shot in the arm for us long suffering folks with cabin fever
from our snowy and cold winter of discontent!
At the moment I am winding down and feeling happily tired. As usual I have a
bunch of photos to process and post plus I need to get my latest Mitty
Update letter ready. I need a nap....zzzzz.

Ps. I still can't believe anyone was interested in how I make my cars look
the way they do.
Sharon and I had a wonderful time at two days of the performance workshop.
It was great to break out of our cabin fever and visit with our Corvair
friends.
Friday Banquet; workshop and vending and the mexifest at Michael and
Tracy LeVeque's
Love Rick Noriss's self explanation of his complusive car correctness.
