<VV> 64 convertible back seat removal?

Remove the lower seat cushion. Look under the top seat cushion (in the 
area just occupied by the lower seat cushion)  and you should see two 
metal straps that are held by bent tabs on the "firewall". Unbend these 
two tabs. pull the bottom of the top cushion towards you while lifting 
the top cushion and it should unhook from the upper support.
