Smitty Says;  Daniel, take it from an old distance traveler.  You can cheat 
and fudge and count on your cell phone and the Corsa Locator if you want. 
but do take an axle with a new bearing on it,  Also carry a bearing not 
installed.  The most common response to inquiring about an early Corvair 
bearing is,  You Want A Wut.  Fan bearings are the same as "whole house fan" 
bearings,  Any bearing supply has them.  Same for the idler bearing.  It is 
commonly known how to make a Corvair alternator out of a Chevy one.  The Alt 
bearings themselves are very generic.  Cover your 6 and have a great trip.
