<VV> Trying to make plans for Tacoma's

Don't sweat it guys,
Unless we have somebody coming from the Maritime Provinces or the far east
coast, Daniel pretty much has the long distance drive sewn up just with his
(over) 4,600KM (2,900 miles) trip which is the shortest direct drive from
home to Tacoma. His total round trip is going to be close to 13,000kms
(over 8,000 miles) depending on his route. Perhaps if there is enough
interest we could start a new trophy for longest route to a convention (we
could call it the Monasterio Trophy) but for now, the long distance is okay
with being best mapped distance. This does bring up a another question. In
the mapping, do we have to allow for only Interstates which are usually the
fastest and most direct routes? Or could we allow for using the secondary
highways which I certainly stay with when travelling...I don't want to fly
past these little towns, I want to stop in them, see the sights, and show
off my truck! I could win the slowest to arrive trophy! Damn those
aero-dynamics of the Rampside.
Daniel, remember too to see Drumheller, Alberta where the dinosaur digs and
museum are located. Of course you will include Niagara Falls I am sure, and
northern Ontario has lots of beautiful scenery. Mark is right about Banff
too. I know you have been to Langley before so you may have seen many of
the sites around our home. Have you driven the old coast highway through
Oregon and California? That is a must do on your way home if not !!!!
Driving that in my Rampside was perhaps the most fun drive I have ever
enjoyed.
I hope you keep us posted as you drive the route. I am looking forward to
seeing you up here in Langley during your trip and again in Tacoma. I have
booked my room at the host hotel already for the whole week, Saturday to
Saturday.

It doesn't work that way, when Smitty went to Alaska on his way between his
house and a convention, he didn't win the long distance award because it
wasn't a direct route. I disagreed then and still disagree.

Sounds like the long distance award in the making to me. I wish you success
and an "uneventful" trip.
Sorry, but I don't have the knowledge to answer the points of interest
question for your route.
