If I didn't know Spike, I would be asking what the heck a secondary carb is
on a turbo!

Smitty Says; Since Spike being a turbo always started in very hot or very
cold weather I had a feeling that there was more to it than being cold. It
took me a while but I finally discovered that for some reason the throttle
on the secondary carb was not going all the way closed. That carb has no
idle circuits and no choke. So when that throttle plate was hanging
slightly open it was defeating the choke action of the primary carb. Why
did it start doing this I have no idea. Wear, slop buildup, friction?
Anyway the addition of a little stronger spring on the secondary throttle
lever and it now snaps shut at reduced throttle as it should. Choke works,
choke pull off works, and the idle adjusts with the screw on the primary
again.
Still it is pretty rough on the fingers out there. Somebody please tell Al
that a joke is a joke and enough is enough.
