yinz guys,
uv is a shortener of tire life for sure. but keep in mind that all tires have some extent of "natural rubber" in them. this is a commodity that does have a shelf life. i have been to the Michelin plant in greenville and toured the commercial new tire facility. a non scientific way to tell when a new tire has a lot of natural rubber in it , is to move it around on a concrete floor it usually squeaks. most tires that have a significant amount of natural rubber will squeak more. this is also why these tires(Michelin, etc) usually are more expensive, and a better tire. i think i recall that Michelin commercial will only keep up to 1 1/2 months worth of real rubber on the rack for use. they also date and verify rubber coming in from suppliers. i have a 1980 z28( black interior )that i have always used copious amounts of armor-all on,inside and on tires, and never had any issues. these cars are famous for dashboards cracking and with a black interior mine has been perfect. sold!!
happy new year
