JR and I are in agreement for the first time in quite awhile!. Sorry it has
to be about battery prices---They're "Just too damn high!"
The 51 and 51R first came out for Honda/Acura--neither a cheap piece of
gear.
I've toured the Johnson Controls Battery plant in Greensboro, NC----Saw 3
lines running side by side. Autozone, Interstate, and another I don't
remember. Big difference in the interstate batteries were the lead
junctions that connect the cells were thinner and narrower than the other
batteries. that means when one of the junctions gets eaten through with
Acid---Dead Cell. Interstate is usually sold by garages, so they make them
cheaper, sell them cheaper, so the garage owner makes something on it.
The Group 65 in my 05 F-150 was selling for 60 bucks when I last worked
retail parts in 2002. Bought one last year, with military discount at
O'Reilly's it was 115.00
Here's a tip though-----There's a nationwide chain of stores called
"Batteries Plus". They sell everything from the hearing aid type batteries
for your modern key fob device to Diesel/Marine Deep Cell and even larger.
See if there's one near you.

Hank, You are right. Expect to part with at least $100 for even a small
car battery.
