<VV> PG leak revisited

 The front pump does not leak. It did require removal of the front engine mounts (easy) to get a good look. I resealed the pan with an extra thick cork gasket and transmission sealing RTV. 
I torqued the pan bolts to 36 in lbs and have a slight weep.  The book recommends 3-4 ft lbs. Was this for the original rubber seal? If so, how much torque should be used on the extra thick cork gasket?
