1.- Too much wear on coupling close to transmission. Check if the holes
where the pin goes in are out of roundness and/or have a close fit. Any
wear on those holes make hard shifting into reverse.
2.- Check tightness of this coupling to the long shaft. There is a small
tab on the long shaft that must match with the straight cut on the
coupling.
3.- Check tightness of the shift lever base to the floor.
