That is true, the GM engineers seemed to know what they were doing, and I
drove my original Corvair shrouds on in 110 degrees without any problems
years ago and on plain Dino oil, too. Removing the shrouds last year was a
easy way to make the engine cooler to mitigate the hard starting; I knew
the carbs were bad and later bought a good set of rebuilt 65's from Wolf
Enterprises which solved that problem. Mark Durham
