<VV> Removing diesel smell

Many thanks to those of you who kindly responded to my inquiry a few
days ago, and apologies for the off-topic nature of the request. As a
couple folks rightly commented, I addressed the request to this forum in
the belief that a group of incurable gearheads would likely have
first-hand experience with spills and stains of that sort and would have
some creative remedies, and that proved to be true. I sent the same
inquiry to a motorcycle forum and got many of the same suggestions, so
we'll try some (or all) of them and see what works.

By the way, there actually is a Corvair connection. My daughter the bus
driver, a student at the University of Virginia, considers our '63 Monza
900 "her" car when she's home, and I've attached a pic taken about five
years ago as part of her HS Senior album. Not too shabby for a bus
driver, I say.
