<VV> Front strut rod bushings

I wouldn't worry about the torch as long as you are in a well ventilated area and don't have any fuel leaks (aim away from the tank also). Muffler shops weld right next to tanks every day. I'll bet a lot of heat will loosen them right up and you won't have to buy anything. Cleaning the threads that are currently exposed is a must as previously suggested. If you can get a good swing on it with a large hammer I've had some luck with holding a sledge hammer against one flat and hitting the opposite flat of the nut with a large hammer. (never done it in this application)

Let the penetrate work for a while longer, often Acetone and PG fluid mixed may do the trick. I'd try the dremmel type cut off wheel, hammer and chisel. There are also out there nut splitters. It might work as there is a bit of room to get the device on the nut.

Any body else have a solution to this problem?

OK, so I've searched the archives...

I need to replace the strut rod bushings on my EM front end. The nuts
are TIGHT!! We had her up on a hoist today, hosed it with penetrant,
put a bigass wrench with cheater bar on it... and saw the actual rod
start to twist.... we quit.
