Bob,

This will go on for days, but what has worked for me is the following. I add some moly cam lube to each end of the push rod, install it correctly with the side oil hole at the rocker, dry the push rod just below the rocker so I have some traction for my fingers and then tighten 3/4 turn or until I can't twist the push rod between my dry fingers any more. I also add moly cam lube to the rocker ball and valve stem face. Works for me.

Bob

Subject: <VV> Lifter Question

Hi,

I am helping a friend do a tune up and O ring reseal on a 1967 4 door PG
110. By all appearances the engine appears to be stock and if I’m right it
probably still has the original Corvair lifters installed.

Given that what do I use for the lifter adjustment beyond zero leash? Do I
use Bob Helt’s ½ turn or the recommendation from the shop manual?

Thanks,

Bob
