And I'll add to Bob's list:
When the top is 1/2 to 3/4 down, dress the top and side pads out of the
frame rails. Then fold this top material back over the frame rails
after the top is down and install the top boot. This is how GM says to
do it in the early convertible top owners manual.
I showed some people at the last NVCC meeting how to do it on a 63
convertible. They had never read the book.
I haven't seen an owners manual for the late tops as a separate book.
